39th Birthday Wishes + The Celebrate Cultivate Podcast is Back for Season 8

I’m back on the podcast after longer than expected break! Join me as I share my feelings about turning 39, my wishes for this year, and how I’m marking the occasion. Want to set your own intentions? Keep reading for an easy how-to!

The last time you heard from me was the Season 7 Finale, which was 7 months ago. The break was nice, but I’ve missed this! It feels nice and cozy to be back here with you.

When the last season wrapped, I promised to return with a new podcast name and format. But, as the past few months have unfolded, it hasn’t felt like the right move. So, we’re sticking with the name and format you know and love, with new episodes dropping every Thursday on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

IDK about you, but a lot has happened since we last spoke! I’m celebrating my 39th birthday this week and it feels like the perfect occasion to come back, catch up, and get this show running again!

Reflections on How It Feels to Turn 39

I can honestly say, 39 feels like the right age for me. My 30s have been a time of major adulting, from getting married, buying a home, having three kids, quitting my corporate career, and starting two businesses! Turning 39 feels like an ending. After so much change and growth this decade, I’m getting the nudge to come up with some new dreams.

How to Set Intentions on Your Birthday

Setting intentions is a powerful ritual you can do for any amount of time. You can set intentions for a day or week, with a new (or full) moon, and on your birthday.

Here’s how to set intentions:

  1. Center yourself. Slow down your breathing and bring your attention to the place inside where you’ve felt your intuition before.

  2. Listen inward. Open your awareness to words, images, and inner knowings. If it feels good, ask your intuition, “What do I need?” Let this come through without overthinking.

  3. Keep a record. Write your intentions in your journal, share them on Instagram, or text a friend about them.

  4. Check back in. After some time passes, revisit your intentions and see if they still feel inspiring. Have you achieved some? Are some stale? Edit and revise as needed!

I’ve been sharing my birthday reflections and wishes online since I turned 25 in 2010! In that post, I wrote, “I wish to continue to nurture my dreams and live with intention. I wish to connect more with you [this community], my inner artist, and spiritual self.”

When I read this now, I want 25-year-old-Kaileen to know that Julia Cameron’s book The Artist’s Way is still a source of inspiration! And that curiosity for the spiritual side of life has led to incredible insights, deep inner peace, and a whole career she never imagined!

My 39th Birthday Wishes

My word for 2024 is LIGHT and it feels so right. Light as in shining bright. Light as in gentle, a soft touch. Light as in levity. When I sat down to write my 39th birthday wishes, they came through in categories.

  • Body: prioritizing my health, continuing to heal and rehab my back, enjoy nourishing foods, move my body in ways that feel good, get outside for fresh air

  • Family: spending one-on-one time with each of my children and my husband

  • Work: refining and elevating the brand and your experience… possibly not making any new programs, but focusing on improving what’s already here

  • Joy: being with friends, traveling, going to concerts, cooking, drinking wine, enjoying clothes, reading, and writing even more

My #1 wish for 39 is to see the light and beauty in my life.

A Year of Calm, A Year for You

You don’t need to download another self-help audiobook. You need to listen to your intuition.

Imagine how it’d feel to slow down, breathe, and reconnect to the peace within you.

I created A Year of Calm to take you from feeling blocked and broken to being centered and connected.

How I’m Celebrating my 39th Birthday

I have some fun plans including dinner with another couple, shopping on South Congress with a friend, and then dinner with my husband and in-laws who are in town from Ohio.

A few days ago, I browsed one of my fave bookstores, First Light Books, and picked up two birthday books: Enchantment by Katherine May and A Swim in a Pond in the Rain by George Saunders.

At some point, I’ll also make a new vision board for 39 and refresh my crystals by moving them around to new spots in the house. Should I bring you along for those little rituals?

The Best Gift You Could Give? A 5-Star Review!

If you want to help me celebrate my birthday, the best you could give is to leave a 5-star review for Celebrate Cultivate on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Your kind words mean the world to me!
