Inner Voice Journaling

Show Notes

Inner voice journaling is an easy and accessible way to connect to the well of wisdom within you. Cultivating your inner voice journaling practice can help you find clarity on a question you have been struggling with, reduce feelings of overwhelm or connect to that calm confidence within.

Listen to this episode for simple ways to connect to your intuition with journaling. I’m reviewing what your inner voice is, how you can access your intuition with ease, and what this practice looks like in my life. I’m also sharing details about some upcoming inner voice journaling classes and workshops you can join to try out this supportive practice

What is Your Inner Voice?

Your inner voice or intuition is the voice within. Separate from your mind's chatter or outside influence, your inner voice is a deep sense of knowing. Calm, confident, and easy.

Benefits of Inner Voice Journaling

Journaling with your inner voice or intuition allows you to connect with the awareness within. Externalizing the wisdom you receive allows you space to process and reflect.

What to Expect with Inner Voice Journaling

You may hear single words, phrases, or sentences as you tune into the voice within. You may see images or even a scene playing out. You can write down what you hear or write out the description of the images you see.

How to Get Started:

  1. Choose what works for you. Journaling can be easy and accessible - whether a paper and pen, a note app on your phone, or a keyboard, there is no wrong way to journal

  2. Get quiet.  Begin with a guided meditation or simply take a few deep breaths. Take a bit of space and time to settle into your body.

  3. Set a timer. 8 minutes is a great place to start with journaling. Enjoy this time to breathe, receive, and sit with yourself. Play around with the amount of time and see what feels best.

  4. Pick your path. When you begin journaling, you can write out questions you may want the answer to and ask your inner voice to answer. You can also simply sit and wait for the words to pour through you to the paper. Listen, listen, listen. Resist the urge to edit what comes up. Let it flow.

  5. Welcome the silence.  In some journaling sessions, you may feel like you can’t keep up with the words and images you receive. Other sessions may receive slower responses. Both are wonderful. Wait in the stillness until you feel compelled to move.

  6. Let it be done. When the timer goes off, I encourage you to pause writing and let it be done. Keep your journaling practice small and accessible as you build this supportive habit.

  7. Review + reflect. Look back on your journal entry. Reflect on the wisdom you have received. Release anything you are ready to let go of.

How to Integrate Inner Voice Journaling Into Your Daily Life

The practice of inner voice journaling is cumulative. As you practice, you will feel better, more confident, and calm. You may choose to add a journal session to your schedule daily or simply journal when you feel the need arises. Feel through what is most supportive. It is always available to you.

If you are looking for an answer in an area of your life or feel overwhelmed by choices, taking some time to connect to your intuition through your journal practice can provide you with clarity and calm. Asking your inner voice practical, grounded, and everyday questions are beautiful ways to practice this.  Play with trusting the beautiful wisdom you receive. And when you act, let inspiration flow through you… even in the smallest ways.

A Simple Reminder

Your inner voice is ready whenever you tune in. Small practices will allow you to strengthen your connection. Be gentle; perfection is not the aim.
