The Idea Awakens

A few weeks ago I shared about my idea to create online oracle cards. Each step of the way, things flowed and felt good. The idea fit perfectly with a free retreat I wanted to host at the beginning of 2021. Ease In was a way for us all to give 2021 a gentle welcome.

The retreat has been a beautiful success. Over 120 people signed up for the daily emails. Our Full Moon Gathering had a great turnout with even better energy. And I've received so many emails saying that this calm, soothing energy was exactly what you needed.

A Daily Practice

Something unexpected grew from the daily oracle cards, which I want to share with you. Every weekday morning since the start of Ease In, this has been my routine:

Wake up between 5-6am.
Get refreshed and dressed.
Putter downstairs.
Turn the lights on low.
Pour myself a cup of coffee with oat milk.
Sit on the couch, open my laptop.
Sip my coffee, turn on a playlist.
Write the day’s oracle message and email.
Press send.

Every morning I have written the oracle card messages and emails from scratch. I created the cards at the beginning of the retreat, but the emails don't exist until right before they arrive in your inbox.

It's been a daily exercise in connecting to my intuition and the universe. Sensing into what can be shared. Exploring what might be useful. Asking how a simple idea can serve and support you.

My children wake up around 7:15am, so they are my deadline. As I press send on the email, I tell our Alexa to wake up the kids. I switch from "oracle mode" to "mom mode" as she turns on their bedroom light. I head up to ask about their dreams the night before and get them dressed for the day.

I wasn't planning to write these notes daily. I intended to batch and schedule them. But as each morning unfolded, I truly enjoyed the daily practice.

The sharp edge of a deadline.
The soft thrill of not knowing what would come.
Placing my fingertips on the keyboard.
Trusting the right words would flow through.

I haven't loved every single word of every single email. Some have been quick and imperfect. Others have been sticky, messy, or confusing. But as a collective, they feel like friends. Ideas, words, concepts, all arriving through me to reach you.

The Next Step

One morning this week, I realized my stockpile of oracle cards was running low. The retreat ends on February 11, with the new moon this week.

Then a question floated up from within. "Does it have to end?" And then, "what if you keep going?"

My mind loved this idea and sprang into action! (She likes being busy and doing all the things.) I've heard of other people doing 100 day creative challenges. Maybe I should keep going for 100 days!?

But I also crave simplicity and have an active practice of inbox zero. Could I ask you to keep opening a new email from me every day for 100 days?

My intuition drifted in again. Soft and calm. "It doesn't have to be a big deal. And you don't have to know how long it will be." One more question, "What if you keep going and see what happens?"

And so, that is where I am now. I shared on Instagram and in today's Ease In email that I'm toying with this idea. Seeing how it flows. Watching the unfolding.

The Message Within

Here's the lesson I'm uncovering: clarity isn't always in knowing the answers. It is also in trusting when you don't know.

My mind is always looking for that crisp, clear yes. The absolute truth. The right thing. The answer. But clarity is also the quality of transparency and purity, as in crystal clear water. That is fluid and flowing, an entire ecosystem existing.

Clarity isn't one singular thing. In almost every circumstance there isn't a right or wrong answer. There are simply choices, a variety of paths. All available for our choosing. Clarity can come in picking one and seeing where it takes you.
