2020 Goals + Year Ahead Tarot Spread

Year Ahead Tarot Spread for 2020 by Kaileen Elise Sues. Tarot cards from The Fountain Deck + Crystals from Illuminate Your Vibe.

March is around the corner and I have so many thoughts. The sun is shining, both kids are napping, and I'm tucked in bed with my computer. I'm recuperating from being sick, but mostly I'm embracing all the cozy vibes.

In January, I welcomed a slow start to the year. I took my time wrapping up 2019. I put away my holiday decorations in the middle of the month. I considered my goals but didn't make anything final. I looked at February and thought, “that's when my year will start.”

I started working more on my website design and content strategy business.

Learn more about hiring me here! I began juggling multiple clients and enjoyed the challenge. There were times when I felt like I was doing too much, then something would shift and I'd be right back in the zone. I'm learning to pay attention to my energy levels, monthly cycle, and the phases of the moon. There is an ebb and flow to everything. It's my job to listen and learn. I'm trying to get quiet enough to hear.

I explored something new and woo.

I had an aura reading and chakra energy healing session, which might be the wooest thing I've tried so far. At times I had to check the chatter in my ego-mind, but in the end, it was a magical and eye-opening experience. It felt like a chiropractic appointment for my energetic body. I left feeling lighter and aligned... and with a craving to dive deeper into the parts of life we cannot see.

I started down the path to setting goals + visions for the year, but am pausing for detours.

To get focused on business, I worked through my coach Abbi Miller's quarterly goal setting workbook. I thought about what I wanted to do, be, give, and receive from February 2020 to January 2021. I proposed a few radical promises to myself, then tucked the papers away. I pinned new images to my mood board. I hosted a vision board workshop, cut out pieces of magazines, and then never tacked them up.

I have plans to share my goals and revisit them each quarter. I still want to make a pretty mood board for my planner and iPhone wallpaper. My vision board still needs updating. I picked a word for 2020 and I haven't shared about it either. It's all coming in the perfect timing. I'm letting myself be slow.

Year ahead tarot spread + crystals for 2020

To go along with my goals, pulled a tarot card for the year and a full 12-month year ahead spread. I also intuitively selected crystals from Illuminate Your Vibe to go along with each card.

My friend Angela Doran is an amazing photographer and she captured a bit of the process. While she was over, she took some gorgeous branding photos for me, which I cannot wait to share with you! After Angela left, I sat down with my cards, crystals, and The Fountain Tarot guidebook.

I spent a few hours reading about the wisdom of each card and learning about the energy of the crystals. I took photos of the cards with the crystals with a plain white background. Then, I uploaded the photos to Artifact Uprising and made myself a very personalized, very woo-wooo calendar for the year.

My anchors for 2020 are the King of Swards + Clear Quartz Wand

The King of Swords offers wisdom and integrity. I'm welcoming his analytical creativity into my year and calling on my feminine energy to smooth out his rough edges. The clear quartz wand pairs nicely with energies of clarity, manifestation, and focus.

February’s card was The Four of Cups + Natural Citrine

The Four of Cups represents blind disillusion and offers guidance to, "quit focusing on the empty cups; possibility is closer than you think." The natural citrine brings a balance of happiness, joy, and light.

After getting a slow start to the year and being sick the past week, this February reading is spot-on. I'm taking deep breaths through the final days of this month and focusing on the promise of possibility ahead.

I’m welcoming new energy as March approaches.

My 35th birthday is coming up, so I'm reflecting on what I want to call in for this new year. I'll share more as I make progress on my goals and vision board.

How's the start of 2020 going for you? Did you do a year ahead spread? Have you set goals for the year? I'd love to hear! Send me a message or connect on Instagram @kaileenelise.
