#Reverb11 Mini Muses – Struggle, Discover, Remember

Nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know.
(Pema Chodron)

Hello lovelies, I hope you’ve had a wonderful week! I’m finally feeling better after catching an annoying winter cold. In my last #Reverb11 Mini Muses post, I mentioned I’m approaching the project differently this year. Instead of posting for each prompt, I’m writing in my journal first. Letting the thoughts come unedited, then cleaning them up a bit before publishing. It’s been such a great exercise, and while I am sad that #reverb11 is missing the overall cohesiveness of #reverb10, this method is really working for me.

When did you struggle?

My Mister and I have gone through a lot this year. Don’t get me wrong, we are incredibly lucky. I have a fantastic job, he’s in business school, our home is cozy. We are happy — and we have each other. Things got tough between March and September, but we hunkered down and weathered the storm. Today, we are stronger for it.

What did you discover?

A better opportunityRunningDavid’s Tea. The Civil Wars. Stuff You Should Know. The History ChicksCaramelized Brussels Sprouts.

Who was important to you?

My Mister. Our families. Friends.

What do you hope to remember?

Crossing the finish line at my first half marathon — the feelings of pride, strength, and accomplishment. Thanksgiving weekend  — cooking with my mister, playing Gin Rummy, snuggling on the couch.

Where did you spend money?

New car, gas, Whole Foods, Target.
Davids Tea, Sephora, Amazon, iTunes, Bath & Body Works.
Lunches and dinners out with friends.
Rent, moving, Ikea.

When were you most scared?

In the hospital waiting room.

What questions did you ask?

This has been one of my favorite prompts to reflect on. It can be so serious, or just a reality check on the things we ask every day…

How am I going to get it all done?
Why? When? Where?
Are you ok?
Does this look ok on me?
Am I being mean, or just honest?
Will you wake me up in 5 minutes?
What do you think? Do I need stitches?
How often should I blog?
What do you want for dinner?
Should I grow my hair out?
What do you want for Christmas?

We All Reverb 2011

#Reverb11 Your Way

#reverb11 is an online initiative  to reflect on this year and manifest what’s next. Last year I hosted #reverb10 with Gwen and Cali. This year it’s in your hands. Check out the #reverb11 hashtag on Twitter … or read a take on it here.

It’s not too late to join and there are no rules. Do what you want, what you can. Answer one prompt, or answer all of them on December 31.

Any time is a perfect time to get started!!

I popped in today to see your prompt for today. I adore questions, too, though my focus is usually on, “What question am I living?” or “What question is calling me to live it today?”… something along those lines.

I am loving the personalization of this year’s Reverbing. I visit many prompt sources, choosing what resonates and then just writing. Much more prolific this year… and there is no “oh no, I must, I should, I.. well, this one has nothing to do with me but I better post to it so people might possibly still like me”… and there is none of that this year. I am grateful you are continuing to write and post to Reverb… Thank you! for that and for all you are and all you do!

I really enjoyed this post. Thanks for sharing your Reverb11 process and for continuing to participate. I love Pema Chodron’s teachings and that quote is spot on! I’m also a huge Whole Foods fan and would spend all of my money there if I still lived in America! Must try Caramelized Brussels Sprouts….

I love these mini muses! Your questions especially struck me — I actually LOL’d when I read them and that’s unusual for me. Gorgeous pics too. 🙂

Sounds like there were some health issues — I hope all is well now!
