We are not living in eternity.
We have only this moment sparkling like
a star in our hand—and melting like a snowflake.

Happy Friday! I hope you’ve enjoyed a blissful week. Mine was quite full, but very rewarding. After having friends in town for my mister’s birthday last weekend, I’m looking forward to quiet, slow and uneventful days ahead.
My 32 Days of Sparkle are still underway, and I’m thrilled about Giveaway #3…
The goodies up for grabs are pictured above—Brownie Print from Jolie Guillebeau, postcards & a Mini Diary from Marta Dansie’s mini mart, blank nature note cards from Gott Graphics Design, handmade earrings from Peach Evolution, Eiffel Tower key chain and cameo necklace from Sofia Barão, and an art magnet I purchased at my favorite boutique from Ian Nicholas Designs.
Each person is eligible for two entries! Leave a comment with your name, email address and something creative you’re planning to do this weekend. Spread the word about this giveaway on Twitter or your blog for a second entry. (Just be sure to leave a new comment with a link to your mention for tracking purposes.)
Comments must be in before Sunday, August 29 at 8:00 pm EST to qualify for the giveaway—the winner will be announced early next week!

Taking photos on the beach
This weekend, I’m hoping to get some shots of my niece, who’s a few months shy of turning 2 – she is crazy photogenic. Her first overnight away from her parents, she got to stay with me, and I took about 400 pictures of her! I’m also being brave this weekend, and turning in the car that I have loved for 7 years for something more practical and reliable. It’s tough, but it’s been a week of putting on the big girl pants, so I’ve gotta do it. Have a great weekend!
Ohhhhh cute stuff!!! I am doing a French Bulldog shoot for a local breeder! I’m also going to pull out my papier mache a little more and start on holiday gifts!

Get ready for my new job on Monday by getting a haircut, reading, and for creativity, making background pages in my visual journal. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
I’ve been watching a lot of 1930s and 40s romantic comedies lately (of the Cary Grant/ Jimmy Stewart variety). This weekend will probably be a busy one for me- but I mean to squeeze in some more of those movies and also get some writing done. i recently acquired a couple of fountain pens and a lovely purple ink- so can’t wait to do a lot of long-hand writing.
I’m going to take some drawing paper and charcoal down to Langebaan Lagoon tomorrow morning.
Great post, love it! This weekend is a welcome relief after an incredibly hectic work week. When I left yesterday with a clean inbox (very rare) I knew I needed a relaxing and restorative weekend. I plan to go for a long walk with my bf, brunch at our favorite cafe, catching up on sleep, and leafing through a stack of magazines.
Such cute stuff! I’m planning on doing some baking, finishing a craft project for my niece and maybe (hopefully) writing a little bit.
What adorable little goodies! Your blog is delightful
I plan on creating pinhole art this weekend!
