Creative Weekend To-Do List

Posted by Kaileen Elise on June 18th, 2010

The creative is the place where no one else has ever been.
You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition.
What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover is yourself.
(Alan Alda)

It’s time to celebrate the arrival of a new weekend. After five days of mind-bending work, I am ready for a little sunshine. The following collection of creative to-do’s are intended to inspire extraordinarily joyful weekends. Use this list as a little tap—or slight tug—towards exploring creative shenanigans of your own desires. Of course, I’d love to hear about your plans for the weekend ahead!

dance like crazy while dusting & find mindfulness in cleaning the toilet

discover a new favorite quote

pick up a few books on the summer reading list

tribute dads everywhere by enjoying slurtles and beer & pretzel caramels

sleep in, relax, give yourself the freedom to have agenda-less weekend mornings

explore a market – farmer’s or flea

pour a glass of wine, watch a great movie, or visit a local vineyard

gaze up at the stars and remember this

consider sharing one of your secrets

  1. I too am going to be finding mindfulness with the loo brush this evening and more enjoyably in the steam room tomorrow morning :)

  2. I always love reading your Creative Weekend To-Do Lists; not long ago you inspired me to indulge in buying fresh flowers for myself, which I hadn’t done in too long :-)

This is one of my favourites yet, though:

*discover a new favorite quote – such a great, and unusual idea! I might discover a new poem that I like, or a piece of art

*sleep in, relax, give yourself the freedom to have agenda-less weekend mornings – this goes without saying in theory, but in practise it rarely happens! I’m taking this one for my own weekend for sure ;-)

*pour a glass of wine, watch a great movie, or visit a local vineyard – I haven’t enjoyed a glass of wine in too long; now is the time, with Julie and Julia on Saturday night (can’t wait to see this film!)

    And my favourite to-do ever:

*consider sharing one of your secrets

Thanks for this! Sorry about the long comment cluttering up your blog, but this has really set me up for the weekend that I so desperately need!

    Have a great one!

  3. I’m so loving your blog and tweets. Glad we found each other!

  4. I love this list. Thanks for sharing!

  5. I have a brilliant idea! What if we meet at a farmer’s or flea market sometime in the Raleigh area? I’ll email you soon. :) Enjoy your lovely weekend!

  6. Thanks for the Twitter and blog love. I love your blog and about to spend some time looking at all your posts! All of us Raleigh bloggers should get together for a little meet and greet, that would be fun – hmmm…the wheels are turnin’. Have a great Sunday!
