Nurture Your Dreams
Posted by kaileenelise on January 19th, 2010Be careful what you water your dreams with.
Water them with worry and fear and you will
produce weeds that choke the life from your dream.
Water them with optimism and solutions
and you will cultivate success.
Always be on the lookout for ways to
turn a problem into an opportunity for success.
Always be on the lookout for ways to
nurture your dream.
(Lao Tzu)
Hello friends! I hope you are enjoying a fantastic week so far. Things are wonderful in my little piece of earth. You might have noticed that I haven’t been around as much lately. Life is prioritizing my to-do list for me, and I am trying my best to listen.
Many of you have been so kind in sharing your “word of the year” and I am gladly joining the inspirational dictionary.
My touchstone for 2010 is nurture—
to care for and encourage growth or development
to cherish (a hope, belief, or ambition)
The word nurture makes me think of tending a tiny and precious garden—an initial spark from which abundance grows. My intention is to focus on nurturing growth within myself and others throughout this year.
I appreciate you joining me on this journey and I cannot wait to see how 2010 unfolds.
I’m certain we will push ourselves to the edge and get comfortable with the uncomfortable. We will dive into new projects and creative endeavors that we never once dreamed were possible. We will savor quiet moments.
We will nurture each other.
We will recognize the greatness within ourselves at this very moment.
We will rock this year.

Nurture – I love your word. That’s definitely how I feel after I’ve been to your blog so you’re already off to a rockin’ start!
I want to NURTURE myself, and all the creativity and love I have for the world!
Thank you so much for sharing your word of the year and your approach to dreams. I think nurture is such a perfect and fitting word for you.
Love that word – the possibilities of nurturing ourselves, nurturing others, nurturing our dreams…so much potential there!
Any tips on how we can nurture our Sparklefest?
I,too, have been a bit quieter on the blogfront because of priorities. I got off track over the holidays and worn out. This week has been all about restablishing my rhythm and getting some rest. My word is sabbatical or rest, not sure which or both. Nurture has a rhythm all its own
Lovely post. That quote should be firmly tacked to my studio wall (or, possibly, my forehead).
My life is a constant dance between dreaming and trying to turn dreams to reality. Your concept of nurturing is so important in this process. Thank you for reminding me of that.
You’re also encouraging me to make clipping collages again like the one you posted here–such a calming, intuitive process, isn’t it? I haven’t made one in a long time, but have lots and lots of bits and pieces waiting. Maybe now is the time.
you NURTURE me for sure!
Hi. Thanks for stopping by! I shared the link to this post because I really did like it!
I love your word NuRtuRe! We often nurture everyone else while forgetting ourselves. I would have loved to participated in your Good Karma Gift Swap, but missed the sign-up…darn! Love the concept of a Good Karma Swap-What a wonderful IDEA! Blessings to you!
